There are many steps when it comes to making the finest brews possible. Below, those steps will be explained so that everyone will have the ability to utilize the plugin.
Getting the materials to begin:
- Brewing Stand (used to distill)
- Cauldron (used to mix ingredients and cook them)
- Fire source (campfire, netherrack, etc)
- Logs of various wood types (Used to age/ferment)
- Water bucket (for filling the cauldron)
- Glass bottles (storage for the liquid that is removed from the cauldron)
- Glowstone dust (for the brewing stands)
How to make Barrels (/warp brewinfo for visuals):
Making barrels is pretty straightforward. You will need wood stairs, fences, planks, and signs.
The small barrel is created by placing 8 stairs in a T shape 2 blacks deep, high, and wide. When you build the small barrel, you must place a sign on the bottom right stair on the front side and type “barrel” on the top line. The sign must remain on the barrel in order for it to work. If you created it correctly, you will get a notification in chat.
The large barrel is created using 16 stairs, 20 planks, 5 fence posts, and 1 sign. You will want to place down 4 fence posts on the corners, 3 blocks wide and 4 blocks deep. From there, you will make a 4 block deep, 3 block wide and high T with your 20 planks. Once that is done, place the stairs in the corners of the T. This will create your barrel frame. In order for a large barrel to work, you must put a spigot, in this case a fence post, on the front end of your barrel on the bottom middle plank. Once that is done, place a sign on the front of your barrel (locations isn’t a factor). On the sign, write barrel. Unlike the small barrel, you can remove the sign from the large barrel once created. If you created it correctly, you will get a notification in chat.
How to use the Cauldron:
To use the cauldron, you need to place a fire source underneath the desired location for your cauldron. The fire source can be a campfire, a lit piece of netherrack, or even some lava. Once that is done, dump a bucket of water into your cauldron. When you’re ready to start adding ingredients, just right click the cauldron with them in hand, each click will deposit 1 item.
How to distill using a brewing stand:
In order to distill alcohol, you need to have a brewing stand set up. The brewing stand will require 1 piece of glowstone dust (it is not consumed), and anywhere from 1-64 blaze powder (blaze powder is consumed). If you have both items in your brewing stand, you can put your drinks in it, 3 at a time, to distill them. Each cycle of the brewing stands meter on the right side is 1 distill cycle. Times distilled will be shown on the bottles inside if you hover over them with your cursor.
How to age alcohol:
Aging alcohol is a bit trickier and requires more trial and error than the other steps. In order to age alcohol you must create a barrel. Once the barrel is created, you place the alcohol in it and each year fermented is 1 full in-game day. Every type of alcohol that is aged requires the barrel to be made of a specific type of wood, which is where the trial and error comes in. If the time aged is yellow or red, that means it is either aged too much or too little. If the Wood type on the bottle is yellow or red, that means you are using the wrong kind of wood.
